COACHING CAREER

After an impressive sixteen years as a player Steve moved into a new career coaching.

Steve coached for the Kansas City Royals organization developing their younger hitters. After three years with the Royals he joined the Montreal Expos organization where he ran their extended spring training program and managed their rookie team. Following his time with Expos he became the St. Louis Cardinals AA hitting coach for three years.
